The NEBOSH Graduation & Awards Ceremony 2019 celebrates the achievements of successful diplomates whose results have been declared between 12th May 2018 and 10th May 2019. As proud sponsors of the ceremony, RRC attend this celebratory event annually taking place at the University of Warwick.
RRC have a very successful partnership with NEBOSH and internationally RRC are one of their biggest course providers. Therefore it is with great honour that RRC attend the graduation ceremony, sponsor the ceremony and present awards to attendees as well as meeting and congratulating our students every year.
The Ceremony
Within the health and safety industry NEBOSH Diplomas are considered to be the golden standard of qualification for any safety professional. Upon successful completion candidates can expect to gain higher salaries (NEBOSH Research) and boost career prospects. The diplomas are considered a high level qualification, able to provide many candidates with sufficient entry requirements into safety related masters programmes.
On the day, the ceremony commences at 11am and NEBOSH chair Bill Nixon welcomed all guests and introduced the guest of honour. This year, Louise Taggart was the guest of honour and she delivered an inspirational speech to all attendees on their ‘’why’s’’. Why they started initially studying, and their motivations from a health and safety perspective. Louise Taggart became a motivational health and safety speaker after her brother Michael, an electrician, was fatally injured at work. By talking about the terrible impact of Michael’s death, Louise wants Michael’s story to have a positive impact on safety in every workplace it’s told (Michaels Story, 2019). She has made quite an impact in the health and safety industry and was named SHP’s most influential person in health and safety for 2018.
During the award ceremony RRC Tutor Allan Ferguson was on stage to shake hands and commemorate the Best Candidate for The NEBOSH International General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety, this award was sponsored by RRC.
After The Ceremony
After the ceremony, celebrations are continued with a complimentary drinks and canapes reception for all attendees and guests. Attendees have the opportunity to take photographs at a dedicated photo booth; as well as backdrops provided by NEBOSH where they could take their own photos. This is where RRC had an allocated table to meet and greet students, whilst congratulating them.
You can find all uploaded graduation photos on Twitter using the hashtag: #NEBOSHGrad2019
