You may have seen that IEMA (the Institute of Environmental Management & Assessment) has now rebranded to the Institute of Sustainability & Environmental Professionals (ISEP).
This change was made following consultation with IEMA’s membership and is designed to better reflect both the purpose of the organisation and the evolving identity of its members. The new name supports a broader focus on sustainability, alongside the organisation’s long-standing environmental remit.
What Does This Mean?
ISEP is the new name for the organisation previously known as IEMA.
If you have studied, are studying or are considering an ISEP environmental or sustainability course, please be assured that- the content and quality of all courses remain the same – there are no changes to the material or the learning outcomes.
Course titles have been updated to reflect the new name, and this will be shown on certificates issued after the rebrand. This includes a slight update to some course titles to better reflect the sustainability content covered.
However, post-nominals will now reflect the new ISEP branding.
Membership and Post-Nominals
While the structure and criteria for membership remain exactly the same, the post-nominals associated with each level have been updated to align with the new ISEP identity.
- AIEMA (Associate Membership) becomes AISEP
- PIEMA (Practitioner Membership) becomes PISEP
- MIEMA (Full Membership) becomes MISEP
